Guests arrive at Johannesburg International Airport for a transfer to Tshukudu Busb Lodge. Depending on the time of arrival, guests will have lunch at the lodge. They can choose to rest at the camp, where they are free to use all the amenities like swimming pools, booking a spa, etc. There will be an evening game drive with experienced and qualified guides.

Day 2: Game drives at Tshukudu Bush Lodge

One of the main attractions at Tshukudu Bush Lodge is the opportunity to embark on exhilarating game drives. The knowledgeable guides lead these safaris, taking guests deep into the Pilanesberg wilderness, where they can witness the majestic animals and their natural behaviors up close. Whether it’s a lion’s roar, the graceful movement of a giraffe, or the sight of an elephant herd, these game drives are truly captivating.

Day 3: Early morning game drive and Bird watching at Tshukudu Bush Lodge

Avid bird watchers will not be disappointed when visiting the Pilanesberg. The park is home to almost 360 species of birds which can be enjoyed all year round, although the best time for viewing is from November to April when the migrant species have returned. The variety of habitats available to these birds range from grasslands, rocky outcrops, woodlands, and dams which is why the variety of species is so vast.

Day 4: Game drives and Bush Dinners at Tshukudu Bush Lodge

One of the most charming dining experiences Tshukudu has on offer is a short trip into the African bush where our guests can immerse themselves in nature while dining under the stars. With the fireplace as your centerpiece, expect to be served a starter of warm soup, followed by a traditional South African braai (barbeque) buffet, plated dessert, and an assorted cheeseboard to conclude. As the meal comes to an end and the moon makes its way across the near-midnight sky, allow our rangers to entertain you for a little longer as they share an assortment of authentic African stories, fables and legends. Day 5: Early morning game drive and departure from Tshukudu Bush Lodge

Guests will have an early morning game drive before breakfast. After breakfast guests will prepare for checkout. They will be transferred by road from the Lodge to Johannesburg International Airport.

What are the requirements for travelling to South Africa?

Travelling to South Africa with children can be confusing. Some few years ago, the South African government required a couple of documents for children to travel with their parents or guardians

A valid passport for the parents/guardians and children
A full birth certificate (original or photocopy of original) if travelling with both parents
If travelling with one parent there is additional documentation , parent consent affidavit not longer than four months and a letter from parents signed by the authorities in case of a guardian

Due to the difficulty in getting some of these documents and the inconvenience it created, the South African government does not require some of these documents anymore. A passport is the only requirement left. However it is advisable to carry your children’s birth certificates with you .

Do you need travel insurance?

It is always advisable to have travel insurance whenever travelling outside Europe and the United States. This will keep you at ease in case something happens. A travel insurance that covers medical situations during your period in South Africa will make your safari smooth sailing. However this is not compulsory, it’s just advisable.

Do you need any vaccines to travel to South Africa?

There are no compulsory vaccines to travel to South Africa if you are coming from Europe or the United States. However you may want to get vaccines against COVID and the other day to day vaccines we take throughout our lives.
