Burchell's Bush Lodge 5-day safari

Guests arrive at Johannesburg International Airport and are then transferred to a short flight to Skukuza Airport in Mpumalanga. This airport is located just a twenty-five minutes drive from the Lodge. At Skukuza Airport a transfer will be waiting to pick them up to the lodge. Lunch will be served from 13:00 pm. Check-in is 14:00 pm. After check guests can rest in their rooms or by the pool. Dinner starts around 18:00 pm.

Day 2: Game drives at Burchells Bush Lodge

Game drives at Burchells Bush Lodge This will be a day of game drives at Burchells Bush Lodge. The reserve is home to a variety of other iconic African species, including elephants, lions, rhinos, buffalo, and an abundance of birdlife. There will be morning and afternoon game drives at the lodge. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served at the lodge. Day 3: Krudger National Park Tour

Guests will get to visit the world-famous Kruger National Park. The main gate is only one kilometer from the Lodge. The Kruger National Park offers unparalleled sights of the big five and other wild animals like zebras, impalas, wildebeest, and wild dogs. Lunch will be taken on the go in the Kruger National Park and dinner at the Lodge.

Day 4: Rest and Game Drive at Burchells Bush Lodge

This will be a day of rest and a game drive at the Lodge after the whole day in Kruger National Park the day before. Guests can choose to have a game drive in the morning or late afternoon. They can use the pool or go golfing at Skukuza Golf Course. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 5: Departure from Burchells Bush Lodge for Johannesburg Airport

Guests will have an early morning game drive at the Lodge that lasts about 3 hours. After that, breakfast will be served at Burchells Bush Lodge, and check out is at 11:00 am. A transfer will take guests to Skukuza Airport where they will catch a short flight to Johannesburg International Airport.

What are the requirements for travelling to South Africa?

Travelling to South Africa with children can be confusing. Some few years ago, the South African government required a couple of documents for children to travel with their parents or guardians

A valid passport for the parents/guardians and children
A full birth certificate (original or photocopy of original) if travelling with both parents
If travelling with one parent there is additional documentation , parent consent affidavit not longer than four months and a letter from parents signed by the authorities in case of a guardian

Due to the difficulty in getting some of these documents and the inconvenience it created, the South African government does not require some of these documents anymore. A passport is the only requirement left. However it is advisable to carry your children’s birth certificates with you .

Do you need travel insurance?

It is always advisable to have travel insurance whenever travelling outside Europe and the United States. This will keep you at ease in case something happens. A travel insurance that covers medical situations during your period in South Africa will make your safari smooth sailing. However this is not compulsory, it’s just advisable.

Do you need any vaccines to travel to South Africa?

There are no compulsory vaccines to travel to South Africa if you are coming from Europe or the United States. However you may want to get vaccines against COVID and the other day to day vaccines we take throughout our lives.
