Arrival at Johannesburg International Airport at the start of the tour. Guests will take another short forty-minute flight to Eastgate Airport, Hoedspruit. At Eastgate Airport, guests will be welcomed by our cheerful guides who will take them in 4×4 open-sided safari vehicles to AM Lodge. There is an option of a helicopter transfer from Johannesburg International Airport to AM Lodge at an extra cost. At the lodge, lunch will be served and check-in is at 14:00pm. After check guests can rest in their rooms, use the swimming pool, go for a spa or the gym. The day will be capped off with a dinner at the lodge.
Game drives at AM Lodge Guests get up at 5:30am for an early morning safari. An early morning tea and some biscuits will be served at the meeting point before the safari starts. The safari will last two hours from around 6:00am until 8:00am. Breakfast will be serviced at the lodge between 8am and 10am. Guests have time to rest and use all the recreational areas on the property like gyms, spas and swimming pools. After lunch, guests will go for another three hour game drive. The evening game drive is quite enticing. AM Lodge is part of the Greater Krudger National Park. The big five are a common site. There is also other equally exciting sights like wild dogs, wildebeests, zebras and giraffes. Safari walks will be provided on requests at no extra cost. Going on walks depends on your physical condition and how you feel about it. They are 100% safe. On the third day guests will be taken to the proper Krudger National Park where they will spend the whole day of game viewing. The Krudger National Park is one of the biggest in the world. There are more animals to be seen. Elephants, Zebras, impalas, wildebeests, giraffes and jackals are the common sights. The guide will explain the history of the Krudger. Breakfast and lunch will be taken in the Krudger National Park. There is no option of safari walks in the Krudger National Park.
After an early morning game drive, the guests will check out at 11:00am. One of our guides will take the guests to Eastgate Airport where they will fly directly to Cape Town International Airport. From there, a transfer will take them to Belle Maroc hotel. Depending on the time of arrival, guests will have lunch and dinner at Belle Maroc Hotel.
The fifth day will enable the guests the opportunity to explore the city of Cape Town. A guide will drive the guests around showing them iconic sites like the Table Mountain, Sea Point and some penguins. Lunch will be taken on the way but dinner will be taken at the Belle Maroc Hotel.
On day sixth check out from Belle Maroc hotel is at 11:00am. Guests will be taken by transfer to Cape Town International Airport. From there they can fly to their destination of choice or country of origin.

Frequent Questions

Travelling to South Africa with children can be confusing. Some few years ago, the South African government required a couple of documents for children to travel with their parents or guardians

  • A valid passport for the parents/guardians and children
  • A full birth certificate (original or photocopy of original) if travelling with both parents
  • If travelling with one parent there is additional documentation , parent consent affidavit not longer than four months and a letter from parents signed by the authorities in case of a guardian

Due to the difficulty in getting some of these documents and the inconvenience it created, the South African government does not require some of these documents anymore. A passport is the only requirement left. However it is advisable to carry your children’s birth certificates with you .



It is always advisable to have travel insurance whenever travelling outside Europe and the United States. This will keep you at ease in case something happens. A travel insurance that covers medical situations during your period in South Africa will make your safari smooth sailing. However this is not compulsory, it’s just advisable.

There are no compulsory vaccines to travel to South Africa if you are coming from Europe or the United States. However you may want to get vaccines against COVID and the other day to day vaccines we take throughout our lives.
