Make a short Kruger escape feel extraordinary with an overnight stay at Kruger Shalati. Set beside and on the historic railway bridge over the Sabie River, this distinctive retreat brings together the atmosphere of early rail travel and contemporary safari comfort. The train is stationary: your journey into the bush takes place in open safari vehicles, not aboard a moving train.
Your Kruger Shalati stay
Spend one night in either a carriage suite on the bridge or a Bridge House suite beside it, subject to availability. These are different accommodation settings, so your suite category is confirmed when booking; a bridge carriage is not guaranteed for every reservation. Between game drives, enjoy river views, thoughtfully prepared meals and time to settle into the pace of the park.
Afternoon light and a sunrise safari
Arrive from Johannesburg for afternoon check-in, followed by high tea and an open-vehicle safari as the day cools. A second game drive the next morning reveals a different side of Kruger, before breakfast and your return transfer. Your guides search for the park’s wildlife and share their knowledge of the landscape; animal sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Johannesburg transfers and safari price
Return road transfers between OR Tambo International Airport and Kruger Shalati are included. Confirm your pickup time and onward flight arrangements with us before booking, as this itinerary involves a substantial road journey and the return airport arrival time is agreed separately.
