A tented retreat beside the Marico River
Experience Madikwe from Thakadu River Camp, a community-owned tented lodge in the reserve’s eastern region. Air-conditioned luxury tents combine private bathrooms and decks with a wooded riverside setting. The main lodge’s lounge, dining areas and pool offer places to rest between four ranger-led safaris.
Madikwe is malaria-free and home to the Big Five, with changing landscapes and rewarding birdlife. Guides follow conditions and wildlife movements; particular sightings are not guaranteed. Safari vehicles are shared with other lodge guests unless private arrangements are confirmed.
Morning wildlife and leisurely camp afternoons
Begin with collection at your preferred Johannesburg or Pretoria location and an afternoon at camp before the first drive. Day 2 includes sunrise viewing, breakfast, lunch and time at leisure before a second afternoon safari and dinner. The final morning drive and breakfast complete your stay before the return journey.
Price and what is covered
US$1,600 per person sharing; US$2,240 solo with the standard 40% supplement. Includes two tent nights, four open safaris, return city transfers, itinerary meals, Wi-Fi and all entrance/conservation fees. All beverages, gratuities and personal expenses are excluded.
