More time for wildlife, more time at the waterhole
Spend three nights at Tau Game Lodge, balancing six guided safaris with leisurely hours around the lodge’s permanent waterhole. Madikwe’s malaria-free landscapes combine dry thornveld with greener bushveld, supporting the Big Five, African wild dogs and varied birdlife.
Between drives, relax on the lodge’s wooden deck, by the pool or in your air-conditioned accommodation. Waterhole visitors change throughout the day, adding another perspective to your stay; neither lodge-side wildlife nor specific safari sightings can be guaranteed.
Two full days to settle into the safari rhythm
Return road transfers connect your preferred Johannesburg or Pretoria address with Tau. Your first afternoon drive and dinner begin the stay. Days 2 and 3 each include an approximately three-hour sunrise outing, breakfast, lunch, lodge leisure and high tea before another afternoon/evening safari and dinner. A final morning drive and breakfast complete Day 4.
Open safaris are ranger-led lodge outings shared with other guests unless exclusive arrangements are confirmed. Pickup is planned around 07:00 and the Johannesburg journey takes approximately 4.5 hours; timing depends on traffic and agreed arrangements.
