A chalet stay with time for the bush
Enjoy a short Pilanesberg escape that pairs guided wildlife viewing with one night in a thatched chalet at Manyane Resort. Travel from Johannesburg or Pretoria into a landscape of volcanic ridges, bushveld and open grasslands, then settle into your resort base between safari outings.
Explore by both closed tour vehicle and open safari vehicle, watching for elephants, rhinos, giraffes, zebras and antelope. Pilanesberg is home to the Big Five, but the animals roam freely and no sighting is guaranteed. Your guides bring context to the wildlife and landscapes you encounter.
Morning exploration and an afternoon safari
Following an early city pickup, the road journey usually takes around two to three hours, depending on your collection point and traffic. Aim to arrive around 09:00–09:15 for a 2½–3-hour drive in the closed tour vehicle. A midday stop at Pilanesberg Centre gives you time to purchase lunch and refreshments before checking into Manyane Resort.
At approximately 16:00–16:30, join your guide in an open safari vehicle for another 2½–3 hours of wildlife viewing. Return to Manyane for dinner and your overnight chalet stay.
Sunrise safari and the journey home
Start Day 2 with hot beverages and rusks, then head out on an approximately 2½–3-hour sunrise safari in an open vehicle. Return to Manyane for breakfast. Around 11:00, check out and continue viewing wildlife from the closed tour vehicle as you travel through the park. Pause for lunch at your own expense before the return journey, with city arrival expected around 17:30–18:30, subject to traffic.
Price and inclusions
US$420 per person sharing; US$588 for a solo traveller with the standard 40% supplement. This shared package includes return road transfers, one Manyane Resort chalet night, one dinner, one breakfast and the guided drives described in the itinerary: two open-vehicle safaris, a first-day closed-vehicle drive and closed-vehicle wildlife viewing on departure.
Lunches and personal expenses are excluded. An optional roadside breakfast on Day 1 is also at your expense. Park entrance and conservation-fee inclusion was not specified in the supplied programme; confirm these arrangements with us before booking. Airport pickup and drop-off can be coordinated in advance; hotel collection details are confirmed for your departure.
