A short bush escape with an adventurous start
Combine a guided quadbike outing with sunset and sunrise wildlife drives on this two-day Pilanesberg escape. Stay one night at Sundown Country Estate, a budget-friendly lodge-style hotel base near Pilanesberg and Sun City, outside the national park.
This is a budget lodge package, not a luxury safari. Your overnight stay gives you time to relax between activities while keeping the focus on the bush. Look for Pilanesberg’s elephants, rhinos, lions and other wildlife with your guide; Big Five sightings are never guaranteed.
Quadbike trails and a sunset game drive
Travel from Johannesburg in an air-conditioned shared vehicle, with OR Tambo or hotel arrangements agreed in advance. Aim to reach the Sundown area around 09:00. A guided quadbike outing is planned approximately 09:30–11:30, followed by an included lunch and time to settle into your room.
Later, join an approximately three-hour open-vehicle safari in Pilanesberg. Explore the park as the afternoon cools, then return to Sundown for dinner and your overnight stay. Quadbike routes and participation requirements are confirmed locally; this activity is separate from the national-park game drives.
Sunrise wildlife and a relaxed return
Day 2 starts with an approximately three-hour sunrise game drive in an open safari vehicle. Return to Sundown for breakfast, check out and begin the journey back to Johannesburg around noon. Extra quadbike outings, bush walks or other optional activities are not included and must fit your transfer schedule.
Price and what is included
US$600 per person sharing; US$840 for a solo traveller with the standard 40% supplement. The package includes one Sundown overnight, return road transfers, one guided quadbike safari, two approximately three-hour open-vehicle Pilanesberg drives, the Pilanesberg conservation levy, lunch and dinner on Day 1, and breakfast on Day 2.
