Enjoy two nights at five-star Ivory Tree Game Lodge and explore Pilanesberg on five guided open-vehicle safaris. Set among the reserve’s volcanic hills, the lodge provides a restful base for a three-day journey that combines early wildlife outings, sunset drives and unhurried meals.
Travel from Johannesburg into a malaria-free landscape of grasslands, woodland and rocky ridges. Your guides look for elephants, rhinos, lions and the other animals that make this Big Five reserve so rewarding. Wildlife is free-roaming, so particular sightings cannot be promised.

Return to the lodge for included meals and enjoy the swimming pool, lounge and bushveld surroundings. Day 2 includes afternoon high tea before your sunset safari. Spa treatments, archery, quadbiking and other lodge activities are optional extras subject to availability. Boma dinners depend on weather and lodge arrangements.
Five open-vehicle safaris, with a final-day choice
Begin with a morning safari on arrival, then settle in over lunch before another outing at sunset. Day 2 pairs a sunrise drive with an afternoon safari, and Day 3 brings your fifth open-vehicle drive. Each is approximately three hours, giving around fifteen hours of guided game viewing.
An optional closed-vehicle drive is included by arrangement on your departure day. Alternatively, relax at the lodge until collection around 14:30. A separately priced extra open-vehicle safari and private return transfer may also be available; its price and timing must be confirmed before booking and it is not part of this package.
Price, meals and family arrangements
US$1,530 per person sharing; US$2,142 for a solo traveller with the standard 40% supplement. Return air-conditioned road transfers, two lodge nights, five open-vehicle safaris, optional closed-vehicle viewing, two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners, Day 2 high tea and the Pilanesberg conservation fee are included. Beverages, spa treatments, gratuities and personal purchases are extra.
Children under six cannot join the scheduled game drives. Contact us before booking with young children to confirm kids’ activities, babysitting availability and any additional costs. Accessible rooms and game-drive arrangements must be confirmed in advance. Accommodation is subject to availability; all times are approximate. Share your flight details when requesting airport drop-off rather than relying on a guaranteed 18:00 arrival.
