This four-day Pilanesberg safari brings together an en-suite tented night at Tlou Tented Safari Camp and two nights at five-star Ivory Tree Game Lodge. Seven guided open-vehicle outings keep wildlife at the centre of your trip, while a final two-hour closed-vehicle drive offers another perspective before the journey home.
Pilanesberg’s ancient volcanic landscape combines grassland, woodland and rocky hills in a malaria-free reserve. Guides look for elephants, rhinos, lions and other resident wildlife; Big Five sightings are possible, never guaranteed.
A changing setting without losing safari time
After your first morning drive, enjoy lunch at the Pilanesberg Centre and settle into your en-suite tent at Tlou, outside the reserve near the Bakgatla area. A sunset drive and camp dinner round off the day. Your next sunrise safari is followed by breakfast and an included transfer to Ivory Tree.
At Ivory Tree, unwind between outings by the pool or book a spa treatment at your expense. Lodge check-in follows room availability. Archery, drumming and other activities are optional extras, and boma dining depends on weather and lodge arrangements.

US$1,485 per person sharing; US$2,079 for a solo traveller with the standard 40% supplement. Includes return Johannesburg or Pretoria road transfers, the camp-to-lodge transfer, one en-suite Tlou night, two Ivory Tree nights, seven approximately three-hour open safaris, the final two-hour closed-vehicle drive, three breakfasts, three lunches, three dinners and park entrance/conservation fees.
