Five days in Pilanesberg, with two contrasting lodge stays

Spend two nights among the tamboti trees at Black Rhino Game Lodge, then move to Ivory Tree Game Lodge for two nights in its volcanic-hill setting. This five-day journey includes nine approximately three-hour open-vehicle safaris and a final two-hour closed-vehicle outing, with time to enjoy both lodges between drives.

Pilanesberg’s malaria-free landscape supports elephants, rhinos, lions and many other species. Your guides follow wildlife movements and conditions, rather than a promise of particular sightings. The Big Five live in the reserve, but sightings are never guaranteed.

From waterhole watching to Ivory Tree leisure

Begin with a morning safari before lunch and your Black Rhino check-in. Sunrise and sunset drives on Day 2 leave space for lodge relaxation. On Day 3, enjoy one more sunrise outing and breakfast before your included transfer to Ivory Tree, with lunch and another afternoon safari following arrival.

Day 4 pairs two more open safaris with lodge leisure. Spa treatments, archery, drumming and other activities are optional extras. Boma dining and after-dark viewing depend on weather, lodge arrangements and park rules.
