From tented evenings to Bakubung lodge leisure
Begin with two nights in an en-suite tent at Tlou Tented Safari Camp near Pilanesberg, then move into a comfortable en-suite room at Bakubung Bush Lodge for two nights inside the park. This five-day journey combines a close-to-nature camp stay with lodge relaxation overlooking a waterhole, while keeping wildlife viewing at the heart of each day.
Nine guided open-vehicle outings, each planned for approximately three hours, explore Pilanesberg’s malaria-free volcanic landscape. A final two-hour closed-vehicle drive adds another perspective before the return to Johannesburg or Pretoria. Guides respond to wildlife movements and weather; no particular animal sighting is guaranteed.
Two accommodation styles, one continuous safari
Enjoy morning and afternoon drives from Tlou, with meals and downtime between outings. On Day 3, a sunrise safari and breakfast precede your included transfer to Bakubung. Settle in over lunch before returning to the bush for the afternoon drive.
Day 4 balances two more safaris with free time at the lodge. Optional cultural visits near Tlou, spa treatments and other activities are not included. Boma meals and any viewing after sunset depend on weather, availability and park rules.
Your five-day package
US$1,420 per person sharing; US$1,988 for a solo traveller with the standard 40% supplement. Includes return Johannesburg or Pretoria road transport, the camp-to-lodge transfer, two nights at each accommodation, nine open safaris, a two-hour closed drive and four breakfasts, four lunches and four dinners.
Park entrance and conservation fees are excluded pending confirmation: the supplied programme lists them under both inclusions and exclusions. They are therefore not promised as included. Indicative daily gate charges supplied are R500 for international visitors, R275 for SADC nationals and R168 for South African residents; rates may change.
Beverages, gratuities, personal purchases, optional activities, insurance, flights and Day 5 lunch are extra. All collection, safari and arrival times are approximate.
